Dr Jacqueline Phillips-Owen - Schools Lead
Dr Jacqueline Phillips Owen is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, is the Lead for the Maudsley Education Consultation Service (MECS) and co-lead of the Schools Mental Health Innovation Network.
Jacqueline trained in medicine while studying for a PhD in cognitive neuroscience at University College London (UCL). She later moved to The Maudsley Hospital to train as a psychiatrist and is a keen advocate for improving children and young people's mental health.
Her role responds to the rising levels of mental health problems in children and young people and the need for earlier, more accessible intervention. Through her work, Jacqueline brings together school-facing clinical teams from the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and research groups from King's College London. Together, these talented teams guide the Trust’s school and college strategy.
